Cookie policy

1. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small files or pieces of information stored on a device when visiting a website. They can maintain sessions, remember preferences, provide security, and generate usage statistics.

Sites may also use storage such as localStorage to retain information in the browser. “Cookies and similar technologies” collectively refers to these technologies where appropriate.

2. Which technologies does MayCloud use?

MayCloud uses necessary technologies and, with consent, analytics technologies. We may currently use:

• localStorage to remember the analytics preference.
• First-party cookies related to our internal analytics system.
• Google Analytics for usage statistics.
• Cloudflare Turnstile for security and abuse prevention.
• MayCloud does not currently use cookies to show personalized advertising.

3. Categories of technologies used

Necessary and preference technologies provide essential functions, protect the site, prevent abuse, or remember privacy choices and may operate independently of analytics consent.

Analytics technologies generate aggregate statistics and evaluate site operation. They include MayCloud’s internal system and Google Analytics and are enabled only after acceptance.

4. Analytics consent

When no preference is stored, we display a notice to accept or reject analytics. Before consent, we do not deliberately enable Google Analytics or begin an internal analytics session.

• Acceptance enables Google Analytics and internal analytics and may set their cookies.
• Rejection keeps both disabled and does not deliberately create their optional cookies.
• The choice is stored in the browser for future visits.

5. Storage of the consent preference

MayCloud uses localStorage with the key maycloud_analytics_consent. It stores only accepted or rejected.

The preference remains until deleted, replaced, or reset through the site or browser. Its sole purpose is to manage and respect the privacy choice.

6. MayCloud internal analytics

The internal system is enabled only after acceptance and collects basic site operation and usage metrics.

• Random UUID visitor and session identifiers.
• Landing page, referring domain, session start, and activity times.
• The page and certain contact-form interactions.
• Analytics records are not designed to store names, emails, phone numbers, or form content. Form data is processed separately under the Privacy Notice.

7. Cookies and technologies used

Internal cookies are set only after acceptance and use HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax and, in production, Secure. Their identifiers contain no direct form data. Third-party characteristics may change.

8. The mc_session_id cookie

This cookie identifies an active analytics session with a random value. It is generated after acceptance, lasts approximately 30 minutes, and is used exclusively for internal metrics. Activity may update the internal last-activity time.

9. The mc_visitor_id cookie

This cookie pseudonymously distinguishes visits from the same browser. It contains a random identifier rather than direct contact data, lasts approximately 365 days, and supports visitor and session metrics.

10. Google Analytics

MayCloud uses Google Analytics only after acceptance to obtain statistics about visits, sessions, pages, interactions, device and browser characteristics, traffic source, approximate location, and other usage metrics.

Advertising storage, advertising user data, and ad personalization remain disabled. We do not use GA for personalized advertising, and the implementation includes its IP anonymization option.

11. Google Analytics cookies

_ga primarily distinguishes visitors and may last up to 2 years. _ga_<ID> maintains measurement and state information and may also last up to 2 years.

Google may change names, characteristics, and retention periods; its documentation and policies provide current details.

12. Cloudflare Turnstile

Turnstile protects the contact form and chat against automated traffic, spam, and abuse. This security purpose is independent of optional analytics and may operate even when analytics is rejected.

Cloudflare may process technical information required to verify requests under its own policies and terms.

13. WhatsApp and social media

Maycloud.mx may link to external services such as WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram. A link does not itself mean the platform sets cookies on our site. After following it, processing is governed by the third party’s policies.

If we later embed content, pixels, or widgets that operate within the site, we will update this Policy and consent mechanism where appropriate.

14. Withdrawal or modification of consent

You can change your choice through “Cookie preferences” and accept or reject analytics again.

• After withdrawal, MayCloud stops starting new internal analytics sessions.
• Google Analytics is disabled.
• MayCloud attempts to delete accessible _ga and _ga_* cookies from the browser.
• Cookies and stored data can also be deleted through the browser. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.

15. Browser settings

Browsers allow users to inspect, delete, or block cookies and site data and apply additional restrictions. Procedures depend on the browser and device.

• Blocking technologies generally may affect some site functions.
• Rejecting MayCloud’s optional analytics does not prevent general access to maycloud.mx.

16. Third-party technologies

External providers may independently change their services, infrastructure, policies, and technologies. If relevant changes affect processing through maycloud.mx, we may update this Policy and its mechanisms.

17. New technologies

MayCloud may add, change, or remove tools. Advertising platforms, pixels, maps, videos, widgets, additional analytics, or experience tools may require a Policy update and additional consent.

• Acceptance for one purpose does not automatically authorize other optional technologies requiring consent.

18. Relationship with the Privacy Notice

When collected information constitutes personal data, it is also governed by the Privacy Notice, which explains the controller, data, purposes, providers, retention, rights, and contact channels. Both documents should be read together.

19. International users

MayCloud operates from Cancún, Mexico, and serves users in different countries. Requirements may vary by jurisdiction. Our consent mechanism gives users control over optional technologies without prejudice to additional applicable requirements.

20. Changes to this Cookie Policy

MayCloud may update this Policy because of legal, regulatory, technical, operational, or service changes. The current version and date will be available at maycloud.mx.

When new technologies, purposes, or circumstances require consent, we may request a new choice.
